Hello! My name is Ale Diaz and I’m a 21 year old creative from Saint Paul, MN. I’m currently a student at Drake University studying Digital Media Production with a double minor in Graphic Design and Spanish. The most important things you should know about me are:

I have an incredibly deep appreciation for creating art.
My family, along with my Mexican raíces, are my most favorite parts of who I am.
I strongly believe that what you put into this world is what you will receive from it.

My Background

I proudly come from a family with mixed roots. My father was born & raised on a farm in Mexico and immigrated to the US alone with his brother when he was only 16 years old. He now works as a very successful subcontractor in construction. My mother was born & raised in St. Paul, MN and is an inspirational, first generation business owner. I also have a sister, Julia, who I would consider to be my best friend. Every day she amazes me with how incredibly smart and mature she is for her age.

Growing Up

As a kid, I was fortunate enough to grow up in a home overflowing with love. With such a strong foundation, I was able to build confidence and feel secure in my own identity. I always wanted to try new things, some of which include performing in the circus, taking electric guitar and piano lessons at the same time, and attending breakdancing classes. The kid in me still loves to try new things, only now it has manifested into traveling the world and experiencing new cultures apart from my own.

I am incredibly privileged to have been able to attend college, especially since it has been one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve developed friendships with people that will last a lifetime, discovered what my true passions are and had the opportunity to gain experience in my areas of interest that I will carry with me well into my career. Check out my work to see what I’ve accomplished in my time at Drake.
